Sonic Measurements

exercises for students of architecture
and the concert for eighteen performers, 15min
Gdańsk University of Technology,  March 2013
production:  Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art,
in collaboration with Anna Szwajgier
recorded by Krzysztof Topolski

The architectonical aspect of the projects can be seen as the most important one in projects like the Measures of sound, where, together with a group of thirty people who participated in workshops, Wollny and Szwajgier were trying to “feel out” with hearing the main building of Gdańsk University of Technology. In the documentation of the project we can hear the scraping of metal on a smooth floor, steps, isolated whistling, to which the whole orchestra of them responds. As by “question and answer” also a repetitive calls “from” and “to” appear, which cover the interior of the building as if they were layers of paint. “What is interesting for us are the nuances of space, the colours of sound. Painting with sound” – says Szwajgier.

Miary dźwiękowe

warsztaty dla studentów architektury
i koncert na osiemnastu performerów, 15min
współpraca: Anna Szwajgier
Politechnika Gdańska, marzec 2013
produkcja: Centrum Sztuki Łaźnia, Gdańsk
nagranie: Krzysztof Topolski
