Zorka Wollny\u2019s piece not only transforms the museum into a stage performance, not only theatralizes the institution, but also confronts its totality. In the piece, The Museum Theatre, the museum\u2019s space, institution, and collection become material for a performance in which a complex relationship between performance and the performative is played out. Moreover, the museum that is performed here according to a precise score remains open to actions that are usually eliminated from the standard museum\u2019s functioning procedures. Probably the most basic material for Zorka Wollny\u2019s work is ritual. On the one hand, it defines the museum\u2019s functioning in such a way that it seems an overlooked category in Goffman\u2019s analysis of \u201ctotal institutions.\u201d On the other, the museum ritualisation of behaviour is opposed here with a performance that is a somewhat mysterious ritual governed by its own laws \u2013 a counter-ritual, as it were.<\/p>\n

W zrealizowanym przez Zork\u0119 Wollny i Ann\u0119 Szwajgier performansie \u201eMuzeum-teatr\u201d przestrze\u0144, instytucja oraz kolekcja muzeum staj\u0105 si\u0119 materia\u0142em dla wyst\u0119pu, w kt\u00f3rym rozgrywana jest z\u0142o\u017cona relacja mi\u0119dzy performansem a performatywem. Dodatkowo muzeum, jakie jest tu wykonywane wed\u0142ug szczeg\u00f3\u0142owo skomponowanej partytury, zostaje otwarte na dzia\u0142ania, kt\u00f3re s\u0105 eliminowane ze standardowych procedur jego funkcjonowania.
\nZapewne najbardziej podstawow\u0105 materi\u0105 dla dzie\u0142a Zorki Wollny jest rytua\u0142. Z jednej strony okre\u015bla on funkcjonowanie muzeum w taki spos\u00f3b, \u017ce wydaje si\u0119 ono by\u0107 przeoczon\u0105 kategori\u0105 w Goffmanowskiej analizie \u201einstytucji totalnych\u201d. \u00a0Z drugiej strony, muzealnej rytualizacji zachowa\u0144 przeciwstawiony zostaje wyst\u0119p stanowi\u0105cy nieco tajemniczy rytua\u0142 na swoich w\u0142asnych zasadach \u2014 swoisty kontrrytua\u0142.<\/p>\n
